Team Spirit
For over 60 years, residents on Lake Barron have been organizing community events yearly. The Lake Barron Regatta was a yearly event until 2019 and now the East-West Crossing is the event of the season. Residents and their friends and family can come and swim, canoe, kayak or row from the east end of the lake to the west end where a refreshments will be shared to celebrate the accomplishments. Information about the 2026 East-West Crossing is posted below. Notice will be sent out to our database!
Activities
East-West Crossing
This event has participants traveling by canoe, kayak, SUP or swimming from the east end to the west end of the lake. It is a distance of approximately 5 km.
We thank the Hindle and McOuat families for hosting the event in 2022, 2023 & 2024. The 2026 event will be held August 8 at 9:30 a.m. swimmers and 10 a.m. boaters.

Registration for the 2026 East-West Crossing is now open. Cost is free for LBCA members and $5 per person for non-members/guests. Start is at the Municipal Launch on Scott Road near Cambria and finish is at 20 Ch Lac Barron. Information and registration by emailing president@lbca.ca
